The adidas Originals team appears to be gearing up to revive their beloved NMD franchise in 2022, as evidenced by the number of new silhouettes popping up in recent leaks. Today, we are checking out the “Grey Glow” NMD_S1, coming soon.
Back in 2016, adidas took the sneaker world by storm with the release of the NMD, or Nomad, a brand new lifestyle silhouette suited for the needs of everyday wear in an urban environment. As we all now know, the NMD was a massive success, spawning an entire franchise in its wake and shifting the tide of sneaker popularity in adidas’ favor. Now, on the eve of the NMD’s six-year anniversary, the Three Stripes are gearing up to celebrate the fan-favorite model with new styles, like the NMD_S1 we have seen in several iterations thus far. The new look is somewhat of a departure from the beloved NMD_R1, featuring a fully knit sock-like upper, and paired with a seemingly massive sole unit that features full-length Boost cushioning inside. The latest color scheme to emerge mixes a solid grey upper with a glow-in-the-dark midsole for a wild new look.

adidas Originals’ latest colorway of the NMD_S1 to surface has not yet been announced for release, though we expect them to launch sometime in 2022 alongside the debut of the new model. Seen here in a cool grey upper with glow-in-the-dark elements, the NMD_S1 will come with a price tag o $180, releasing from both adidas and select retailers.
