DTLR’s New Balance 2002R “Purple Noir” Releases Next Week

DTLR and New Balance have a new project on the way this week, returning to the 2002R as their canvas for a sleek new “Purple Noir” color scheme, with shimmering purple accents and glow-in-the-dark features.

The DMV’s DTLR has a strong collaborative relationship with New Balance, regularly releasing exclusive colors of some of the brand’s most popular models. In 2023, the two released an incredible five different sneakers, from the “Lovers Only” 2002R to the Grinch-inspired 990v4. This week, they’ve unveiled their second release of 2024, after February’s bright 9060 color scheme. This time, they are returning to the 2002R for another stylish new look, dressing the shoe in a “Purple Noir” palette. The model features a light grey mesh base layer, with darker grey shades for the bridging layers on top. The outermost panels come in a jet black suede, matching the shoe’s ‘N’ logos, while heel and midfoot accents come in a metallic purple tone. The model also features some accents in neon green, which incorporate glow-in-the-dark elements to stand out even at night.

DTLR’s latest project with New Balance has been scheduled to release next week, on May 17th, 2024. The “Purple Noir” 2002R features a neutral palette with shimmering purple panels and glow-in-the-dark accents, and will be available exclusively from the retailer’s website and retail stores, with a price tag of $165.
