After the revival of the Air Huarache in 2020, Nike is gearing up to release its basketball-ready cousin, the Air Flight Huarache, in 2023. Dressed tin the OG ‘Menta’ colorway, pairs are rumored to launch in April next year.
Nike’s Air Huarache made waves in the running world when it was first introduced in 1991. With a slim fit and incredibly light weight, the silhouette combined durable outer panels with a neoprene inner layer for a more flexible running shoe, adding Air cushioning underfoot for a smooth ride. Shortly after, in 1992, Tinker Hatfield teamed up with legendary basketball shoe designer Eric Avar for a modified version of the silhouette for the court, the Air Flight Huarache. Bringing a higher cut and new midsole to the table, the Flight Huarache is now rumored to return again in 2023, after its last retro release in 2014. Seen here in the OG ‘Menta’ colorway, the shoe combines white leather overlays with a mixed purple and royal blue neoprene layer underneath, while a black cage system completes the look.
NIKE AIR FLIGHT HUARACHE ‘MENTA’ 2023 RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s retro release of the Air Flight Huarache is rumored to debut next year, sometime in April 2023. Though this has yet to be confirmed by the brand, sources say the original ‘Menta’ color scheme will be available at the shoe’s launch with a price tag of approximately $125, dropping from both Nike and select retailers.
