Nike is celebrating Korea’s Hangul Day again this year, featuring some classic silhouettes in neutral ‘Orewood Brown’ colorways. This week, the Air Force 1 Gore-Tex joins the collection, coming soon.
In October, Korea celebrates Hangul Day, also known as Alphabet Day. The holiday celebrates the creation of the Korean alphabet during the 15th century, and is marked as a national holiday in both North and South Korea. Last year marked Nike’s inaugural releases of sneakers celebrating the day, bringing Hangul characters to iconic silhouettes. This year, they are running it back, with the Air Max 1, Dunk Low, and now the Air Force 1 Gore-Tex dressed in ‘Orewood Brown’ colorways. The latter is the latest to surface, and features a white canvas base layer with brown leather overlays, all of which is backed by Gore-Tex’s waterproof textile. The heels sport revised Nike branding, as well as Hangul characters on the left shoe.
