This year, Saucony kicked off the 30th anniversary celebration of the Shadow 6000 runner, rehashing the silhouette’s OG color scheme. Now, the Saucony team is taking a much brighter approach with the candy-inspired “Sweet Street”, available now.
Saucony’s regular sneaker releases took an extended hiatus at the beginning of the worldwide pandemic early last year, largely in part to the restrictions on workplaces and the global slowdown on trade and production. However, the Boston-based brand has been pumping up their releases so far in 2021, namely in celebration of the Shadow 6000’s 30th anniversary. So far, Saucony has celebrated with OG colorways of the vintage runner as well as some special collaboration. Today, they quietly dropped the Shadow 6K’s new “Sweet Street” color scheme,a palette that pays homage to old school candy shops through vibrant colors and patterns. The Sweet Street Shadow 6000 begins with a black and white mesh base layer, while hot pink suede is layered onto the mudguard and heel counter. The midfoot overlay comes in simple off-white suede, while the lacing system stands out in a golden hue. Saucony’s signature River logo comes in black and white zebra stripes, matching the outsole. Finally, a teal blue lining completes the new look.
