Sporty & Rich is expanding on their many adidas collections this month, this time taking inspiration from this month’s start of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris. Returning from their debut with the model this Spring, the Handball Spezial is releasing in August.
Emily Oberg’s Sporty & Rich brand has grown a strong relationship with adidas since their first collaboration in late 2022. Their debut collection helped pave the way for the Samba’s incredible rise in popularity in 2023, and they have continued to use the model regularly in their several releases since then. This Spring, they added another Three Stripes classic to their catalog, releasing a three-piece collection of Spring colors for the Handball Spezial, another retro trainer adidas has been pushing in 2024.
Sporty & Rich is bringing back their take on the Handball for this Summer’s “Olympic” collection. Releasing alongside the Samba, this pair is much more vivid than its counterpart, coloring the shoe’s suede upper entirely in a dark Collegiate Red tone. Leather stripes and inner linings are added in white, while navy blue adorns the shoe’s heel counters. Finally, gold foil S&R branding completes the look.

The next collection from Sporty & Rich and adidas has not been officially announced yet, but is currently expected to release this month, on July 29th, 2024. The project focuses on “Olympic”-themed colorways, including this red, white, and blue Samba that will be available from both partners and select retailers for $150.
