Nike SB Dunk Mid Premium – Plaid – Goofy Boy

Perhaps overshadowed by other outstanding efforts from the Swoosh, the Nike Skateboarding line has taken something of a backseat, at least relative to its normal place at the head of Beaverton’s dinner table.  There’s a bunch of hype creeping up for Summer 2009 and beyond, so we have to be careful to stay in the now.

Ironically enough, these aren’t *technically* available now, though they will be in a matter of days.  Sporting a plaid ankle/heel and Kevlar-tipped laces, these seem at first glance like a conservative outfit condensed to a midtop vamp.  Upon further inspection, we see a 90’s era skater, and the inspiration is clear: much like the JNCO-style elephant leg jean shorts worn by that character, plaid was a mainstay of the early part of last decade’s fashion.  Plaid stuck it out, but you’ll look more current rocking these with skinny denim after you check the pics and then cop them from PTNC.  Just remember to wear them with solid colours 😉
