In what’s been shaping up to be a heavyweight between you and your wallet, next Saturday’s release of the Air Jordan IX Powder Blue might be the knock-out punch. 2010 might have been the strongest year since 2007 for Jordan Brand in terms of Retros, and the the Powder IXs are at the forefront of that argument. These are truly a ‘Retro’, as this memorable colorway of the first Air Jordan shoe released during Michael Jordan’s first retirement.
However, the Retro and Original are not exact carbon copies; the 23 logo on the heel was absent on the OG, the Jumpman on the bottom sole was Powder Blue, not black, and the color on the midsole is University Blue rather than the original Dark Powder Blue. The Jordan Brand complaint department shouldn’t hear much clamor about these changes because despite these minor discrepancies, the “Powder” Blue Air Jordan IX is sure-fire neck-breaker.
