Jordan Brand had the tough task of following up the widely successful Air Jordan 2011. That was a notion not felt for the last few years, as the Air Jordan 2009 and 2010 were rather subpar in regards to its performance in sales. The 2011, designed by Tinker Hatfield and Tom Luedecke, grasped beauty and grace with such ease, utilizing classic ideas, foreign methods, and never-before-seen technology, making it one of the best post-retirement Air Jordans ever. For the Air Jordan 2012, the twenty-seventh installment of this nearly three-decade long renaissance period, Jordan Brand takes the ‘luxury’ aspect and runs with it, creating an all new design utilizing a design seemingly inspired by the classic saddle shoe construction. Other features include a Flywire stabilized upper, visible Air on the heel, and a unique midsle featuring detailed lines that match the Flywire on the upper. A prominent Jumpman logo is placed on the sidewall of the mid-top shoe.
