Nikestore Launches Photo Verification Step for Sneaker Purchases

Nikestore Launches Photo Verification Step for Sneaker Purchases

Nikestore Verification Photo

Remember the whole Nike Access Codes business that seemed to be a harbinger of a fairer checkout process for online sneaker purchasing? That system has yet to manifest, but as of this morning Nike did throw another unexpected wrench in the boogie-man bot community. If you added a pair like the Air Jordan 3 “Infrared 23” to your cart this morning on Nikestore, you no doubt realized a screen popping up prompting you to click on various photos matched with words (See the example below) before checking out. What remains unclear is which sneaker releases this will apply to – surely you won’t have to do this photo verification for every purchase, but at the very least, it was in place for this morning’s Jordan 3 launch. Is this the final step needed to thwart automatic purchasing? Were you still able to get your sneakers? Tell us down in the comments and stay tuned for updates on Nikestore’s ongoing attempts at creating a fairer system for sneaker acquisition.
