LeBron is Nike for life – literally. Darren Rovell reports that Nike and the NBA superstar have signed a long-term deal that spans the two-time champion’s entire remaining existence. Details of this new groundbreaking deal will likely follow, but Nike will likely stick by their tendency to remain absolutely hush about compensation and the like. Will LeBron get some shares in Nike Inc., or has he locked in a salary so massive that he’ll set him and his family and the generation after that for life? What we do know is that deal is the largest single athlete contract in the brand’s history, and this could open the door for fellow stars like Kevin Durant and even the retiring Kobe Bryant to similar deals of a permanent nature.
