Off-White And Nike Unveil “The Queen Collection” For Serena Williams

Off-White And Nike Unveil “The Queen Collection” For Serena Williams

In celebration of the 50th U.S. Open tournament, Virgil Abloh and Nike have teamed up once again to present a unique collection of footwear and apparel for one of the greatest athletes in history – Serena Williams. The origin of this collaboration began in Paris when Virgil met with NikeCourt to discuss a performance dress for Serena. From those sessions, Virgil created a design inspired by the tennis star’s love of ballet, although the uniform itself is meant to emphasize her power and grace.

On top of the two on-court outfits, Virgil and Nike have created special edition colorways of the Nike Air Max 97 and Blazer Mid that feature color gradients on the midsoles and a new volt zip-tie. Serena Williams herself will don a PE version of the NikeCourt Flare, complete with all the signature markings that made “The 10” the groundbreaking series it is today.

Official release information has not been confirmed for “The Queen Collection”, but a full lookbook of the entire set is available below.

Updated August 20th, 2018: The 10: Nike Air Max 97 will release on Nike SNKRS Pass at 11:50 AM EST.
