adidas Creates A Speedfactory AM4 Inspired By Tennis Legend Billie Jean King

adidas Creates A Speedfactory AM4 Inspired By Tennis Legend Billie Jean King

With the US Open in full swing, tennis fervor is certainly high. Many brands with a rich court heritage are dipping into their history books for special releases, and adidas is looking to both their past and future with a special Speedfactory AM4 created in collaboration with the legendary Billie Jean King.

This unique Speedfactory arrives dressed in a royal blue, a colorway inspired by the legendary blue shoes King wore during a pivotal match 45 years ago. For further special touches, King’s likeness appears on the tongue and the heel features further co-branded detailing. Although the colorway and accents may be heritage-inspired, the technology is all futuristic with a NFC-enabled tongue patch, ultra-light Speedfactory upper, and full-length Boost midsole providing exemplary performance. Launching alongside King’s new “Here To Create Change” social justice initiative, the shoes are limited to a run of 300 and will be available on adidas.com and at the adidas US Open pop-up starting August 27th for $200 USD. If you’re in New York, King herself will be appearing at the aforementioned US Open store from 3:30-4:30 PM on the 27th, spraying pairs of the Speedfactory AM4 with her signature blue. Enjoy a full look at the shoes below, and be sure to tune in to the US Open this week for all the world-class tennis you can handle.
