The Nike Air Max 97 Breaks Out Its First Utility Tooling

While many other Nike classics have seen their fair share of upgrades under the “Utility” moniker, the Air Max 97 has been largely unrepresented with just “SE” and Ultra” makeovers taking the place of the more technical branch of design. This, however, has just changed for the better with the inception of two new schemes under the transformative epithet, introducing it in varying style. The first, made playful in contrast, is mostly a mix of warm tones: mudguards and every other layers sports the more muted variation in suedes and then smoother synthetics, accented in between by reflective strips and neon tubing from edge to edge. Swooshes sit in light blues, adding a small and subtle compliment to the mix of standout hues, blacked out midsoles, and gum bottoms. The latter along the accompanying pair, which shares shape but not color, forms the enhanced tread in light grey, a perfect detail to the mostly stealth-improved upper whose panelling more so prefers sparing variance along a black spectrum and lace units of striking white embellishment. Grab a peek at both colorways right below and find them available now at Nike.com for a retail of $175.
