Virgil Abloh Adds Denim Monogram Uppers To The Louis Vuitton 408 Trainer

Virgil Abloh Adds Denim Monogram Uppers To The Louis Vuitton 408 Trainer

A societal norm made luxury, denim is just as potent at high end prices as it is at the lowest tier, making it a perfect point of reference for designers like Virgil Abloh as he covers the Louis Vuitton 408 Trainer in its lightwash finish. Not a stranger to turning standard toolings on their head, the menswear director has since restructured the Dunk Low and is now heading the charge for the luxury house’s foray into streetwear. A chunky sneaker at its core with some sensibilities true to the ever-headlining label, the silhouette marks with signature monogram patterns in contrast prints, breaking up in lighter tint against a backdrop of faded indigo. Overlays, which also bear the logo atop a metallic grid, sit just a bit more dyed than the underlying base, which flips the scheme as darker hits making up the all-over treatment. Hard shell supports attach right to the profile just underneath the lace stay — touting “VUITTON” in standout lettering — with similar constructed heel tabs doing the same except with the recognizable LV emblem. Grab a look at these right here and find them rolling out likely in the new year.
