Nike Adds An Oversized Transparent Swoosh On The Air Force 1

Nike Adds An Oversized Transparent Swoosh On The Air Force 1

With the oft-lauded Air Force 1 currently having another moment, it’s difficult to truly ascertain what makes the model so alluring outside of its own time-enduring shape, one whose bulky aesthetic has not shied people away ever since its inception years ago. In what is effectively a study of that very form, Nike is giving the model a makeover seemingly in nod to each component’s individual role or possibly to look see samples, debossing with denotation and even swapping out the side swooshes with translucent panels. The lateral check, left uncut unlike the opposite side, further protrudes out and over onto the leather and mesh backdrop, only giving way to the signature logo through its stitching alone. Just adjacent, text imprints onto various panels along the heel wrap, spelling out “2 – FILM AIR” and “DNA – IM5197” right above, a mysterious bit of detailing that likely refers to the brand’s own proprietary terminology and codes. Sole units are yellowed to vintage effect, though much of the upper is dressed in a pristine white, sharing the same tonality though diverging in shade thanks to their assortment of different materials. Suede eye stays loop with laces in complement, shrouding much of the tongue whose texture is comparable to a thin Tyvek. Elsewhere, find “PRODUCT CODE – 4090” on the insoles, “FULL LENGTH AIR SOLE – A1180” on the outsole, and white on white stamps and patches at their usual spots. Grab a detailed look at the pair right here and find it likely rolling out within the coming months at Nike.com and select retailers.
