The Concepts x New Balance 327 “Cape” Is Inspired By Vodka Cranberry Cocktails

After teaming up with Jordan Brand to host an exclusive launch for Jayson Tatum’s Air Jordan 34 “Welcome to the Zoo” PE, streetwear retailer Concepts is delving into the collaborative space yet again for a refreshing project with New Balance. For inspiration, both Boston-based entities traveled 70 miles south to Cape Cod, Massachusetts — a hook-shaped peninsula known for their scenic cranberry bogs. Using the New Balance 327, they choose to reimagine the silhouette in a way that best expresses the essence of the region’s popular “Cape Codder” cocktail, or in more normal bar-related terminology, the Vodka Cranberry.

Save for the baby blue banner that runs beneath its laces, the uppers are predominantly hued in a crisp and bright red to best translate the look of the evergreen dwarf shrub. Down below, the icy blue treading references the accents found on the bottle of the Bully Boy vodka normally used to make the aforementioned concoction, followed by a tiny sliver of bright green painted along the midsole to represent the beverage’s mint leaf garnish. Concepts branding is printed out along the footbeds, as well as atop the tongues in co-branding fashion. If you’re interested in picking these up, they’ll be dropping early through the Concepts website/retail stores on August 7th, with a wider release to follow on August 13th. Peep a closer look below, and note that they the retail tag is set for $140 USD.

In other news, the green JJJJound New Balance 992 officially drops on July 31st.
