Michael Le Saucony’s color stories are often far more interesting than that of the rest of the mainstream, releases sourcing gastronomy, nationwide coffee chains, and ships the legend of the La Victoria as inspiration. And their latest collaborative offering, which taps the expertise of retailer AFEW, likens the Shadow 5000 to the efforts of Albert Einstein through a detail-filled “Time & Space” colorway.
Centered on the academic, the pair pays mind to every one of its visible details. The colors, which mix a sartorial tweed with dark green suedes, honors both the attire of a professor of Einstein’s time period as well as the chalkboards that acted as the base for his genius. Elsewhere, these formulas sprawl atop the white midsole alongside playful “A=few” branding, an overt reference to the historic principle of mass-energy equivalence. This is seen once again along the leather counter just below embroidered embellishments that prefer the design of 3D cubes and hourglasses over top a backdrop of white and tan, respectively.
