Nike Adds Recycled Textiles And Grind Soles To The Air Max 95 Crater

In the past year, sustainability has really come into focus for Nike, the brand often echoing its “Move To Zero” messaging. And as a result, innovations like the Space Hippie and the Vapormax 2020 have come into play, both causing a ripple effect throughout the umbrella as their recycled materials have been spotted on the Air Force 1, Jordan 1, and now the Air Max 95.

Much like past experiments, the signature Grind material rests primarily along the outsole. Scraps of red, orange, and blue can be found all throughout the fixture, placed in perpetuity across a neutral mold. Above, the pair also features some recycled textiles, specifically a greyscale wool whose nappy texture reminds of a mohair. This is used across the profile’s layers as well as the tongue, while adjacent there lies a white lace unit, open knit mesh, and synthetic leathers.

Grab a close-up look at the Air Max 95 Crater here and expect a Nike.com release soon.

In other news, there may be a Dior Air Max 95 in the works.
