The Air Jordan 5 “Racer Blue” Expected February 2022

The Air Jordan 5 “Racer Blue” Expected February 2022

While no longer celebrating its milestone 30th anniversary, the Air Jordan 5 has emerged in a handful of compelling styles throughout 2021. Ahead of the new year, the silhouette has emerged in a “Black/Racer Blue/Reflective Silver” expect to release February 2022.

Teased via an unauthorized mock-up, the forthcoming retro follows a similar color-blocking as the inaugural “Metallic Silver” colorway of Michael Jordan’s fifth signature sneaker. The newly-surfaced option, however, indulges in one of the more exciting additions to the Brand Jordan family’s color heritage: “Racer Blue.” According to an initial sketch, the titular tone animates lace toggles, Jumpman branding on the tongue and heel, the tongue’s lining and most of the midsole. Previous Jordans that’ve utilized the vibrant hue have done so sparingly. And while the upcoming sneaker doesn’t take a uniform approach, its pairing of “Black” and “Racer Blue” deliver an eye-catching makeup. As has become expected of Tinker Hatfield’s third design for #23, the tongue dons a reflective finish, while outsoles include an icy composition meant to combat yellowing.

Enjoy a first mock-up of the Jordan 5 “Racer Blue” ahead, and anticipate official details to emerge as a Nike SNKRS release date is locked in at the start of 2022.
