The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 Features A Wavy Mudguard Reminiscent Of The Air Max 2 ’94

Patta has been quite picky with their collaborations ever since the start of the year, only presenting two — one with New Balance, the next with Vans — in 2021 thus far. But with the Summer coming to a close, it seems the Amsterdam-based label is picking up the pace as they team back up with Nike for an Air Max 2 influenced take on the Air Max 1.

At a glance, the pair is quite distinct, supplemented by additional and slightly tweaked overlays. The colorway, however, is far more simple, opting for a greyed mesh base, adjacent white leather panels, and accents of a deep orange. The latter pops along the entire side, the Swoosh, and part of the tri-color sole, which sandwiches the warm tone between shades of tan and black. Immediately above, a yellowed midsole adds vintage effect, further nodding to the aforementioned AM2 and the many years since its ’94 debut. What’s more, in more explicit nod to the somewhat forgotten silhouette, the mudguard is given a wave-like cut not too unlike its inspiration.

For a quick peek at what’s ahead, see the leaked imagery below. Priced at $160 USD, the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 should hit Nike SNKRS and possibly select retailers soon with a special box in tow.

UPDATE 09/24/21: Patta’s Masta Lee posted an updated look at their upcoming Air Max 1 collaboration.
