The Nike Air Max 2021 Gets The “Rayguns” Color Treatment

The Nike Air Max 2021 Gets The “Rayguns” Color Treatment

Although Nike’s “Roswell Rayguns” collection dropped a couple of months ago, the fictional basketball team’s colors are seen on an upcoming Nike Air Max 95. Prepare to experience déjà vu once more as Dr. Funk and his all-star team make the Nike Air Max 2021 their next destination.

As a futuristic silhouette, this new Max Air model is an appropriate landing spot for the extraterrestrial sports team. However, the aliens are absent on the model, only leaving their jersey colors behind. The arrangement consists of a grey, gridded mesh base that sees black overlays of varying opacities and shapes for an avant-garde look. The body’s greyscale scheme is interrupted by the gold branded overlay emblazoned on the medial side, which makes up for the lack of a Swoosh logo. Hits of gold are also applied to the piping details on the tongue and decorative stitches on the lacestays, furthering the Rayguns theme. Another team color, red, can be seen tinting the midsole stripe and a small band of stitches that run down the toe. To complete the space-age style, the midsole is split between black and white and features a dual-pressure Air unit at the heel in the aforementioned gold tone.

Check out official images of the AM 2021 below, which will arrive at Nike.com in the coming months at a price of $160.
