Nike Covers Up The Air Force 1 Low With A Lucha Libre Mask

Nike Covers Up The Air Force 1 Low With A Lucha Libre Mask

As the Nike Air Force 1 Low approaches its blockbuster 40th anniversary, it’s emerged in ensembles both subtle and bold. For its latest proposition, Bruce Kilgore’s iconic design draws inspiration from the equally-iconic world of lucha libre for one of its wildest outfits yet.

Predominantly clad in a shimmering silver arrangement, the latest take on the Nike Sportswear classic indulges in alternating red and green branding and an all-white sole unit. Shrouds at the laces, however, animate the pair to a whole new level, resembling half of a mask that might be worn by Mexican wrestlers as part of the 150+-year-old sport. Between right and left shoes, blue and green halves are complemented by black, red and silver hues capturing the ornateness of the traditional garb perfectly. Elsewhere, sock-liners feature a gradient likely directly from the Mexican flag, as well as “¡LUCHA LIBRE!” messaging.

Enjoy official images of the low-to Air Force 1 ahead, and anticipate a Nike.com release soon.
