From the bold luxury of Gucci to the soulful tailoring of Wales Bonner, adidas has tapped into the design language of countless high fashion labels. And over the course of their long-standing partnership with Craig Green, the Three Stripes have quickly allowed the designer’s vision to take the reins, affording him near full creative freedom over his collaborative sneakers.

The Craig Green x adidas E5 is but the two’s latest experiment, surfacing courtesy of leakers. And while it might borrow the BOOST sole unit of the Retropy E5, the model is a far cry from said pair in terms of its design. Here, the upper sits somewhere between a sneaker and a sandal, combining the robust suede and leather constructions of the former with the exposed breathability signature to the latter.
