White Canvas Builds Out This Upcoming New Balance 550

Building upon what’s already on offer, New Balance will soon be releasing their basketball oxford in a series of canvas-constructed styles. This includes not only the plum-colored pair revealed this past weekend but also this newly-surfaced “White Canvas” colorway.

Following in the footsteps of a different hardwood icon, this New Balance 550 forgoes leather and suede almost entirely, opting for canvas through every one of the upper fixtures save for the “N” logo. Not counting the outsole, which is dressed in a bright gum, the woven material’s white finish is carried over to many of the adjacent details, such as the laces, midsole, and embroidered branding.
