The New Balance 2002R Gets Ready For Fall With Muted Color Palettes

Over the last three years, the New Balance 2002R has become one of the brand’s most coveted silhouettes. Previously a failed experiment, the sneaker has helped the North American company gain market share and cachet amongst sneaker collectors.

A healthy mix of solo and joint efforts have delivered the NB 2002R in dozens of styles for all preferences, making the design a fairly common one across social media and real life. Recently, the sneaker emerged in four different styles seemingly prepped for autumn. Durable suede and lightweight mesh make up each pair’s upper, with tones like “Driftwood,” “Slate Grey,” and “Eclipse” claiming real estate. The understated color schemes deviate from the pastel and bold tones that’ve appeared on the New Balance model over the past three years. Shock-absorbing midsoles – borrowed from the NB 860v2 – keep things simple in an off white hue, while stability, cushioning, and traction components deviate in understated finishes that complement each fall-ready NB 2002R offering.
