Comme des Garçons’ annual Fall/Winter collaborative Nike delivery has officially been revealed on the runway in Paris, and once again the iconic label unearths a relatively obscure model that has sat dormant in the vaults for quite some time. The Air Max TL 2.5, a running/lifestyle model from the late 2000s catalog, is at the focal point of this Fall 2024 release, bringing a blend of high-fashion with comfort casual once again.

Now a standard practice for the Japanese fashion label, three colorways will be offered — all-white, all-black, and a third blend of the two. All three have been revealed up close via @ndjolijean on Instagram,

Boasting a full-length “Total” Air Max unit and futurist-inclined upper, the Air Max TL 2.5 has never been subject to a collaboration before. While notable in its design, it was never considered part of the conversation when it came to coveted collectibles, although we’re sure there are Air Max fanatics out there that will contend with that notion.

CDG adds some of its distinct touches via the matted Air units as the Comme des Garçons HOMME Plus markings at the heel. Some have noted that the shoes appear to be heightened with a platformed sole, but they appear consistent with the original 2008 model.

CDG collaborations have always commanded high price-tags, with even the low-tech options like the Pegasus 2005 commanding $250 at retail. The Air Max TL 2.5 will very likely swim in the high $200s/low-mid $300s range when it eventually hits Dover Street Market retailers later this year.
