Where To Buy Forrest Gump’s Nike Cortez

The Nike Cortez “Forrest Gump” drops May 8th via SNKRS and select retailers in men’s sizing, carrying a slight $110 premium. One of the most iconic sneakers in film history, this colorway has seen its fair share of re-releases over the years, last re-emerging for the Cortez’s 50th anniversary in 2022. The model features modern retooling for this 2024 version, sporting a wider toe-box and sturdier side panel construction relative to the OG hardware. Below you can find our “Where To Buy” section containing a list of retailers carrying stock, as well as official Nike images and detailed analysis of this shoe.

Air Jordan 11s on Michael Jordan in Space Jam. Nike Mags on Marty McFly in Back To The Future II. Nike Cortez on Forrest Gump in…Forrest Gump. There only a handful of truly iconic sneaker-meets-silver screen moments, and Tom Hanks’ portrayal of the luckiest accidental hero and historical figure chiseled the Cortez running shoe into the modern day fabric of popular culture.

If you recall, Forrest received the shoes from his long-time friend Jenny. Faced with yet another abandonment by his childhood pal, Gump went on a light jog that took him from coast to coast as he greeted both the Atlantic and Pacific and several onlookers on the way.

The Cortez is the brand’s first-ever track shoe designed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, but it later became a significant piece of street fashion in Los Angeles for its clean style and low price. Nike continues to keep the shoe relatively affordable with its $90 price-tag, and thankfully its most iconic white/red/royal iteration commonly associated with Gump is back in action this Summer. It last dropped in this manner in 2015, while a true-to-the-original re-issue came in 2016 as part of the silhouette’s proper reintroduction into the market.

Official images of the shoes have arrived, so take a look below and stay tuned for the Nike SNKRS release on May 8th for $110.
