The Nike Mac Attack Goes Doubles Tennis With The Challenge Court

Two tennis icons in one shoe.

The Nike Mac Attack Goes Doubles Tennis With The Challenge Court

Nike heard the cries of OG Swoosh heads with the long-awaited revival of the Mac Attack (or now simply called the Attack). Already dropping in original colorways and collaborations with the likes of Travis Scott and Social Status, Nike is tapping into its creativity once more by spelunking into the vaults with a new colorway inspired by a fellow tennis legend.

The Nike Challenge Court tennis shoe from the mid-1980s — another shoe that has yet to see a proper re-issue — makes a surprise appearance on this upcoming Mac Attack GR release. The chief model borrows the signature navy swoosh and navy/team red collar, all while opting for a yellowed upper to once again lean towards the aged, vintage aesthetic. While that method is a bit overused in today’s lifestyle footwear market, it works quite well in this colorway and in tandem with an appropriate model like 1984’s Attack.

This leaves us wondering if Nike has plans of ever dropping the Challenge Court in the same true-to-OG form. It did appear years ago as an SB skate shoe, but a true re-issue is a box left unchecked.

Nike will likely drop this Mac Attack before Spring’s end for $120, so check out the official images ahead for a closer look.
