Kevin Durant’s 2024 has been one of the better years for his signature shoes in recent memory. The first impressions of the upcoming Nike KD 17 have been positive as the Air Max Plus-influenced design has been consistent the growing popularity of the 1998 model. Meanwhile, the retro releases of his Nike KD 4, arguably the best of the entire lineage, has been drawing some newfound attention among younger audiences.

Already dropping in the KD 4 “Galaxy” and a updated version of the “Year Of The Dragon”, the fourth model, designed by Leo Chang will be returning this July 2024 in the unforgettable “Nerf”. A collaboration with the Hasbro toy company, this vividly-colored pair mirrored the energy and youth possessed by Durant back in 2012. From the royal blue uppers to the spray-paint graphics on the strap, this KD 4 truly touches a nostalgic note, bringing us back to the peak years of Nike Basketball.

In 2012, Nike created a special edition shoebox that doubled as a mini-hoop; although it’s not clear if Nike will go through such measures, the effort will surely be appreciated because the shoes are easily considered to be one of the greatest Nike releases in the 21st Century.

A release is expected this July for $130; stay tuned for further details and official images. In other KD news, check out the first look at the KD 4 “Weatherman” dropping this Summer.
