Anthony Edwards, Damian Lillard, And Donovan Mitchell Debut New adidas New Signature Shoes For 2024 Playoffs

With the sports world turning their attention to the start of the NBA playoffs, adidas took advantage of the extra eyeballs this weekend. They took the chance to debut three new models for three of their signature athletes: Donovan Mitchell’s adidas D.O.N. Issue #6, Damian Lillard’s adidas Dame 9 and the all-new adidas AE1 Low.

The adidas D.O.N. Issue #6 was first up chronologically, a fortuitous scheduling opportunity for easily the most colorful shoe on display. Given how the other included models mirror the myriad of vibrant shades featured here, this is where you can spot the overarching theme of the pack the clearest. The parallel gradients and competing sunset/sunrise shades that dance across the new signature are consistent with some of our first looks at the shoe, this colorway revealed as a part of a sneaker swap between he and Edwards.

Speaking of, the social media marketing deployed by the Three Stripes paid off on-court for the Wolves star, rocking his new adidas AE1 Low. The honeycomb design that marks its mid-cut counterpart remains intact, a simple chop down at the collar instead giving way to their new fit. We haven’t seen this exact shade featured in his product line, but it’s a hue that lands somewhere between adjacent “Georgia Red Clay” and “With Love” pairs released previously.

Finally, after being the central model for adidas at All-Star weekend, the adidas Dame 9 made its official introduction. It’s a far more layered silhouette than previous editions, defined by a canoe-like glove overlaid over a sleek black mesh bootie that anchors the foot. While the true debut look for this shoe adorns it in all manners of warm shades, the split construction is likely to give way to the same sort of two-tone color-blocking that we’ve seen on the most recent James Harden and Anthony Edwards shoes.

As you’ll see in images below, the adidas Harden Vol. 8 was also roped into this collection, clad in a “Purple Burst” layout that’s likely to be released in the near future. We expect a public drop for every shoe featured here as the Summer draws on. Stay tuned for official release info as it emerges.
