Nike Basketball Expands The GT Cut Family With The $110 Cut Cross

Three years after its initial debut, Nike Basketball’s Greater Than Series may have exceeded initial expectations. What began as a collective of nuanced hoops models focused on specific types of play is now at the forefront of the sub-division in an ever-crowded, ever-competitive market, and the Zoom GT Cut in particular may be responsible for the expansion of the GT family.

For the GT Cut in particular, Nike looked to offer some lower-budget options with similar properties as the top-shelf model. The GT Cut Academy, priced at a super-approachable $95, provides exactly that with a high-traction, moderate response package. Now, the GT Cut Cross enters the fray with an equally appealing pricepoint at $110.

While firm tech details are not revealed, we can see that the bottom soles are identical to the GT Academy — so don’t expect any chances in the cushioning. What’s different is the upper, which features a reinforced overlay at the forefoot that provides added containment for moves like the cross-over or anything else that requires quick change in direction.

Several color options of the Nike GT Cut Cross are expected to release beginning this Summer; see a closer look ahead and stay tuned for additional colorways to appear.
