Original article posted June 3rd, 2024: As a model that can credibly claim to be the Nike shoe, the Air Force 1 has taken on plenty of offshoot editions to capitalize on that success. The Nike Air Force 1 headed into the wilderness with its “Wild” edition, continuing here in a classic combo of olive & orange.

The palette at play here largely speaks for itself, evoking the combination of realtree apparel and high-vis accents. Even without those narrative ties, these complementary tones have led to success for Nike tracing back to the days of the Undefeated Air Jordan 4. However, especially in this edition, the construction feels more worthy of discussion.

The most evident change is the heavy synthetics that take up the entire upper. A lightweight tongue, new pull tab and bootie provide a comprehensive retooling to the foot entrance, while the lace unit transform with nylon loops and rope laces. More granularly, the Nike Air Humara is a major influence here  the jagged contrast stitching towards the forefoot and checkered midsole a reflection of that shoe’s design language. All told, it’s safe to say that the Nike Air Force 1 Wild puts its money where its mouth is, committing to an outdoorsy new life both in aesthetics and function.

This Nike Air Force 1 Wild is expected to release this Fall, retailing for $145. Enjoy official images via the gallery below while you wait.

Elsewhere in utility footwear, the next Naruto Crocs collection lands on June 6th featuring the likes of Sasuke and Itachi.
