The ASICS GEL-NYC Dives Into “Dolphin Grey”

While the initial reaction to the AWAKE NY assisted ASICS GEL-NYC was widespread acclaim, it would’ve been hard to predict the success of the model a year and a half later. Each colorway sells out like clockwork on the company’s site, making a new colorway truly newsworthy for our purposes. A duo of new looks just landed, highlighted by the ASICS GEL-NYC “Dolphin Grey.”

Bearing the titular shade as well as “Oyster Grey,” the aquatic naming convention on this edition is pretty instructive for its aesthetic execution. Steely cornflower blue is the true tonesetter, painting the wide mesh underpinnings that sit central on this shoe. An appealing blend of neutrals dominates the rest of the shoes real estate, combining the two titular greys with beige, brown and off-white accents layered on top of one another. Though transitional weather is in the rear view for now, this presents a shoe that’ll get you through the Summer and Fall with a style equally appropriate for either.

The ASICS GEL-NYC “Dolphin Grey” is available now via the ASICS website for $140- hit the links under “Where To Buy” to land directly there.

For another release just around the corner, check out the latest round of Naruto Crocs, giving Itachi and Sasuke their own colorways.
