The Air Max Plus “Hyper Blue” Looms Large Over Nike’s First SE Air Max Dn

Nike put a tremendous amount of energy behind the rollout of the Air Max Dn, unveiling over a dozen colorways surrounding the silhouette’s Air Max Day hard launch. Since then, new colorways have understandably not kept up with that torrid pace, making successive ones that emerge carry a bit more weight. The latest adds even more emphasis with a “Special Edition” subtitle arriving alongside the Air Max DN “Hyper Blue.”

The inspiration for this pair is clear and obvious, borrowing the black & blue gradient from the iconic Air Max Plus “Hyper Blue.” It’s adopted here with harder breaks between each stripe of color, but the point remains. The dusky atmosphere that made that AMP a hit in its OG run and successive retros once again lands the punch in this application.

Elsewhere, nocturnal accents anchor the design top and bottom. On that lower level, the midsole brings gold accents, painting the Swoosh and the four circular Air units that define the Dn. All told, the “special edition” subtitle is well placed on this shoe, as the historical colorway meshes with the Air Max Dn’s construction perfectly, making it one of the best looks for the silhouette so far.

The Nike Air Max Plus “Hyper Blue” releases on July 3rd, retailing for $160. A Nike.com launch is expected, but a drop via Finish Line and associated channels is confirmed for that date. Catch retailer images ahead to get a better sense of what to expect when this pair materializes.
