Sneaker News The Air Jordan 39 chapter of the legacy officially begins on July 23rd, 2024 with the debut “Sol” colorway, but Jordan Brand just unleashed a first look at every Air Jordan 39 release through Summer 2025.
The 39th model focuses on “simplified tooling, a clean toe-down look, and minimal branding” according to Joël Greenspan, Senior Design Director for Jordan Brand Performance Footwear. On a performance technology standpoint, the Air Jordan XXXIX boasts ZoomX Foam, the first time a basketball shoe has ever featured the elite cushion platform. Adding to the functionality is a full-length Zoom Air, amounting to one of the best specs we’ve ever seen in a hooping shoe. At $200, ZoomX foam stacked with full-length Zoom Air is some impressive bang-for-buck considering other Nike, Inc. products with the similar tooling.
In addition to the Air Jordan 39 “Sol” dropping on July 23rd, Jordan Brand has gone ahead and officially unveiled every colorway that is set to release from Fall 2024 through Summer 2025. Firm release dates have not yet been shared, but will be added to our Jordan Release Dates page once made public.
As you can see in the gallery of colorways below, it is clear that Jordan Brand has opted for a “quieter” aesthetic in comparison to previous Air Jordan iterations. It truly embodies the “grown up” refinement that Michael Jordan is naturally drawn to at this stage of his life. Michael Jordan’s “cross-step” move heavily informed the data-driven design; his ability to move in any direction at any given moment is touched on via the various detail hits, such as the mirror-image patch behind the tongue, the directional symbols at the toe, and the Jumpman logos facing in both directions.
