adidas Reimagines The Iconic Artillery For 2024

A high-top no more.

adidas Reimagines The Iconic Artillery For 2024

Originally conceived in 1991, the adidas Artillery series is making a comeback by way of an all-new version. While the original model is well known as one of the tallest high-top basketball shoes of all time, the modern adaptation, officially dubbed the Artillery 24, ditches that distinction entirely, chopping off the ankle padding to comprise a fresh low-top model.

The Artillery 24 obviously has a much smaller canvas compared to preceding models, but still manages to incorporate many of the same established design hallmarks. Ventilated stripes branding drawn from the Artillery Lite appears on the lateral and medial sides, while the heel structure features a Trefoil logo and embossed ribbing up top. When it comes to materials, the upper features mostly leather with suede panels near the eyelets and back half of the shoe, both of which extend into open space around the quarter branding. This particular colorway reflects 1990s aesthetics with an aqua-colored heel, complemented by an off-white midsole and laces for a pre-aged vibe.

The tactic of re-releasing retro basketball models as lifestyle-orientated low-tops is a proven one for adidas, as evidence by the mainstream popularity of cuts like the adidas Forum Low. It remains to be seen what adidas has in store for the Artillery 24, but there could be lots of potential to tap into here.

In any case, the adidas Artillery 24 is set to release in this colorway on July 25th for $110 in Europe, with a stateside drop likely on the horizon. Stick with us while we provide updated information as the new model proceeds to roll out.
