A Touch Of “Blue Slate” Animates This “Malt” Nike Air Max 96 II

While the Nike Air Max 96 II isn’t necessarily the first silhouette that comes to mind whenever “Air Max” is mentioned, the model has still been amassing a handful of new colorways that are worthy to bring Sergio Lorenzo’s design into the mainstream. Joining the roster is an offering that adds a pop of blue to a tonal tan base for a trendy, lifestyle-friendly look.

Ditching its original bold color palette, the pair sees its striped nylon-like assume a brown “Malt” coloring. The neutral theme continues with the signature aggressive overlays in the lighter “Desert Sand” shade. The black stripe and reflective detailing on the sides deliver a graphic look favored by the ’90s fashion scene. Furthermore, branding on the toe and tongue, as well as the profile Swooshes unexpectedly introduce “Blue Slate” into the mix to brighten up the style. The design is complete with a chunky white midsole that likens that see on the Nike Air Max 95.
