Final Fantasy XIV And PUMA Join Forces On Four Real World Cosmetics

Regardless of your experience with video games, it’s very likely you’re familiar with Final Fantasy, one of the longest-running JRPG franchises of all-time. Since the very first installment back in 1987, the games have gone from strength to strength, with every subsequent sequel further iterating on the gameplay of its predecessors. And though story-driven, single player experiences are signature to the series, there are a few exceptions to the rule: Final Fantasy XIV being the most notable example.

Following its launch in 2010, Final Fantasy XIV was considered to be a colossal failure, receiving criticisms for its lack of polish and disaster of a release. Now, however, that’s no longer the case, as the most recent expansion — Endwalker — saw players storming Hydaelyn in droves. Its on-going success has even caught the attention of PUMA, who are helping the MMORPG create some real world cosmetics.

Built on the foundation of two contemporary models, the Final Fantasy XIV x PUMA collection draws inspiration from the duality of light and dark. Complete with graphic nods to the MMO and its world, both the Slipstream as well as the RS-X are dressed in a duo of colorways, each visualizing the opposing elemental aethers. At one end, the pairs incorporate white tones and bright blues and greens, while the other leans on dark neutrals and dark cool tones.
