The above images are from retailer JD Sports UK. These images provide the most accurate look at what to expect upon the official release in Spring 2024.

The below article was originally published in May 2023.

Ever since the Air Jordan 1’s return to near exact 1985 specifications for All-Star Weekend in 2020, the sneaker community has pleaded with Jumpman to return the heralded Metallic Series that helped launch His Airness’ first signature silhouette. Following the announcement of an all-new “Metallic Burgundy” option entering the Spring 2024 release schedule, the Beaverton brand is answering the call with the upcoming release of the original Air Jordan 1 Low ’85 “Metallic Blue”.

For its third release and second retro treatment, the brand’s mid-80s design cues imbue the proposition with flat-leather “Summit White” uppers and a metallic finish cast across the Navy Blue mid-foot Swooshes and heel tab that we hope won’t capitulate to heavy flaking like past efforts. While detailed imagery has yet to be revealed, the midsole unit is expected to be accompanied by a color-matched Off-White tint whereas a finishing dark blue touch is applied to the nylon liner, tongue tab and tread underfoot.

Scheduled to tentatively release in Spring 2024 for a retail price of $170, in the meantime enjoy a look at the original pair from 1985 below while we await official imagery of the nearly 40-year successor.

For more rapidly approaching Jumpman options, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Washed Black” has been confirmed to release on June 10th.
