Cosmic Bullet? This Nike Cosmic Unity 3 Gets Dressed As The Silver Bullet 97s

A direct homage to the 1997 color blocking.

Cosmic Bullet? This Nike Cosmic Unity 3 Gets Dressed As The Silver Bullet 97s

From its appearances in the recently released “Christmas” collection to an appearance in the Swoosh Family pack, the Nike Cosmic Unity 3 has routinely dressed in the Beaverton brand’s broader colorway stories. For its next iteration, the sustainably-minded basketball silhouette echoes the metallic silver fervor of one of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes of all-time, the circa 1997 Nike Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet”.

Amplifying the effortless simplicity of the original Air Max 97 colorway that took inspiration from the sleek aesthetics of Japanese bullet trains, the noticeably taller Cosmic Unity 3 maintains the esoteric lines and layered panels of its Max Air counterpart through the upper’s various embroidered finishes. Casting the latter in a tonal collection of silver hues, a crisp white midsole stamps the ensemble with further greyscale accents while the carved-out window mirrors the Air Max 97’s mid-foot panel featuring a crimson red swoosh. Paying further homage, black and red hues collaborate along the tongue and heel tabs while a jet-black tread harkens to the near-exact placement of the silhouette’s 26-year-old color blocking.

Enjoy a detailed look at the Nike Cosmic Unity 3 “Silver Bullet” below as we await further release details in the meantime.

For more from the Nike Basketball banner, the Kobe 4 “Black Mamba” releases on December 27th.
