Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Reenacts Classic Converse Weapon Ads With Magic And Bird For Shoe’s Relaunch

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is actually the guy she told you not to worry about. He possesses elite status that men strive for, but he’s done so in two completely different realms of influence. That’s why he’s the perfect fit for Converse’s grand relaunch of the Weapon, because like the man who first popularized the shoe in the 1980s, SGA’s got the flash and the game personified by the one and only Magic Johnson.

With fragment design, Undefeated, and Kasina setting the tone with their collaborative efforts in 2023, the Converse Weapon is primed for a grand revival, and with the help of NBA superstar and Converse athlete Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Converse is bringing the shoe back just before the hoop hoopla at All-Star Weekend.

The Weapon Hi and Weapon Lo (both available now at Converse, by the way) arrives with leather uppers, Star Chevron underlays, egret cup soles and outsoles, and the Weapon’s signature Y-bar. This remastered build was established in 2020 under the Converse CX line with the new foam midsole, promising comfort fit for today’s standards.

Again, the Converse Weapon is available now in High ($120) and Low ($110) forms; two colorways of each style are up for grabs.
