Let the Air Max Month festivities begin. It’s officially March, which means an all-out celebration of everything AIR will commence, culminating some key releases on or around March 26th, 2024. We already know the Air Max Dn is positioned to be this year’s big new debut, but don’t overlook the original that started the entire culture.

On the first-ever Air Max Day in 2014, Nike released the original Air Max 1 “Sport Red” with a midsole painted in neon volt and “3.26” on the tongue label (see the gallery below to refresh your memory). For 2024, Nike will reprise that concept on the Air Max 1 ’86, choosing the other original “Sport Royal” colorway.

After LeBron James was spotted in the pair earlier in the month, official images of the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Air Max Day” have surfaced, all but ensuring a release on the upcoming holiday established a decade ago. With an expected MSRP of $150, this Air Max 1 will surely galvanize the Air Max community as Nike looks establish a new generation of Air Max fanatics through commemorative launches that nod to history.

For other Air Max Swoosh updates, here’s the latest on the Nike Dn.
