Updated June 7th, 2024: Winners have been notified for all three New Balance 1000 colorways. While it appears the black & grey colorways will remain exclusive to the ALD website, the White Aime Leon Dore New Balance 1000 will drop via a wide NB.com release on June 20th. Nonetheless, you can catch detailed images of all three black, grey, and white options ahead, and find our initial coverage in-tact after that.

Updated May 31st, 2024: Our best look yet at the Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 1000 collection has just landed. In typical ALD fashion, the three pairs including in the upcoming pack lean into sleek, clean colorways, spreading tonal looks across editions in white, cream and grey. On top of confirming some of the more intriguing details gleaned from the official images embedded below (patent leather on the black pair, translucent overlays), these new shots showcase some of the peripherals. Contrast laces, Y2K inspired hangtags and honeycomb insoles are some of the finer touches we can expect each shoe lands.

As of writing, a release date is still unclear, but the increasing stream of images hints towards a drop around the corner. Take a closer look just ahead with our full coverage further down.

No archived New Balance shoe revival is complete without a trip to the friendly confines of Aimé Leon Dore. Following a Joe Freshgoods collab and the release of a GR “Metallic Silver” colorway, New Balance creative director and ALD founder Teddy Santis dresses the New Balance 1000 in three clean, essential colorways.

Santis has teased the collection on social medial in recent weeks, and now official Aimé Leon Dore images provide the most detailed preview to date, singling that a release could come sooner rather than later. Monotone black, grey, and white colorways make for a sensible trio joined by a sleek contemporary aesthetic, but the black pair differs slightly when it comes to materials. It features a mesh base, patent leather overlays, and tactile rubber toe cap, while its counterparts opt for a simpler mix of traditional leather and external TPU elements. If you couldn’t spot ALD’s imprint through design language alone, debossed “AIMÉ” branding hits the toe of each pair to make it clear.
