The Nike Air Max Plus Tweaks An Iconic Look In “Racer Blue”

After a the SNKRS Holiday Preview that tipped off a set of Swarovski Air Max Plus releases and a hybrid Air Max Waffle Racer SP silhouette, one thing’s absolutely certain: the “Tn” isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Though new uses of its iconic sole and brand new colorways are still often the headline grabbers, long-time fans will revel in the latest look for the Air Max Plus, a “Racer Blue” execution that builds on the foundation of an OG colorway.

Any blue & black AMP colorway warrants reference to the “Hyper Blue,” and looking at this shoe from that lens, this can be understood as a more reigned-in take on the same concept. Most notably, the upper tilts to solid, pure blue eschewing the gradient looks that are often so synonymous with the silhouette.  The anchoring elements, from the TPU waves to the leather foxing to the midsole, all opt for midnight jet black, and some extra energy comes with the ever-reliant yellow Tn logo that lends its color to the Air unit at the rear. All told, it’s a stealthier pair that taps into a formula proven successful in past Air Max Plus drops and throughout the Nike catalog as a whole.

The Nike Air Max Plus “Racer Blue” is expected to drop on July 12nd, retailing for $190. Enjoy official images via the gallery just ahead.
