The most successful designers of signature sneakers – the Tinkers, Avars, and Petries to name a few – often draw in some elements from their prior creations, although the entirety of the new shoe is indeed completely unique from its predecessors. Jason Petrie, who has guided the massively successful LeBron signature line since 2009, has a very specific design ethos and it’s quite clear what he likes to do and what he avoids; he’s got a penchant for mini-Swooshes on the medial toe, intricate detailing on outsoles, and chiseled body constructions, and the latest installment of the LeBron line exhibits all of those traits to a tee. Of course, sneaker design is more about creating the right shoe for the athlete rather than selfishly sticking to personal preferences, and what we’ve seen from Petrie has been nothing short of amazing. There are some crossover elements from 11 to 12 worth noting, and we’ve attempted to cover some of the details with this side-by-side comparison below. Take a look and let us know what stands out to you, and stay tuned to Sneaker News for updates LeBron 12 release info.
