The Nike Air Max Plus III Is Set To Return In 2019

The Nike Air Max Plus III Is Set To Return In 2019

After giving the Air Max Plus a true-to-the original remake to celebrate its 20th anniversary last year and doing the same for the Air Max Tailwind IV this year, Nike has set their sights on transmogrifying another turn-of-the-century Air Max silhouette for the modern day: the cult-favorite Air Max Plus III. One of the best examples of the Swoosh Brand’s early ’00s design ethos, the Plus III features a wild plastic heel clip above its sizeable heel Air Max unit, complete with contrasting streaks working their way up the midfoot counter to give off an air of speed. Meanwhile, the midfoot and forefoot swap out the vertical plastic overlays that were used on the first Plus in favor of a vein-style horizontal design. Smaller Air Max units are present on the front half of the midsole and a “Tuned Air” text hit graces the toe, while the line’s classic yellow TN badge appears on both the tongue/outsole, and a single embroidered Swoosh on the forefoot completes the look. So far, three colorways have been revealed — “Hyper Blue,” a mix of green/blue and a simple black/silver — but if this rollout is anything like the above-mentioned sneakers, we’re likely to see many more. Grab a look at the compelling trio below, and stay tuned to our Sneaker Release Dates page for more info on an official date of arrival as it’s available.
