Japan’s mita And bal Add Metallic Trims To The Reebok Aztrek

Japan’s mita And bal Add Metallic Trims To The Reebok Aztrek

Showing love for retro icons while dosing in their own unique ethos, bal designers Ryusuke Eda and Kentara Kabaya as well as mita‘s very own Shigeyuki Kunii take up brush along the iconic Reebok Aztrek, thrusting the trail-inspired silhouette into an urban dystopia of their own making. Function is left true to form, carrying over from the original 1993 debut with breathable mesh uppers and enduring nylon arms though palette is where both Japanese imprints took liberties. Much of it is simple and monochromatic as grey swathes with lighter shades comprise much of the total construction with contrast notes of black suedes traveling from heel to the toe as it segments the upper; yellowed midsoles hits sit next to notes of olive and dark shades with branding left boldly emblazoned by vibrant red and blues — these bold hits are then doused atop the various Reebok embroidery with logos from bal and mita lying subtly along the insole. Grab a look at the pair right here and find it rolling out August 9th at select retailers for a retail of $100 USD.
