Japan’s FACETASM Has An Air Jordan 1 In The Works

Bashfully expressive and feverishly avant-garde, the Tokyo roots of Japanese label FACETASM always come through with almost no filter, building on the inspirations of designer Hiromichi Ochiai through each mainline release and accompanying collaboration. While the brand stood close but not quite within the spotlight of the sneaker industry — thanks to years-old releases with Converse and Diadora — the imprint is now finally taking one step closer with a spin on the beloved Air Jordan 1. Topped with logo tabs bearing their coveted namesake, which spawned from the Ochiai’s interest in the the word facet, the pair dresses boldly in light blue overlays accented by opposing orange accents. Laces seem to line the entire tongue with its more aggressive shade though not without balance from the navy smooth leathers and accompanying cool tones. Aside from embellishments by way of an overstated rear pull tab as well as a miniature Jumpman surprisingly emblazoned on the midsole, the pair is largely toned down save for some bright outlines surrounding the Wings iconography and supposedly soft leathers. Grab a quick look at the pair here and keep it locked for more images and release details as they surface.
