Size? And Vans Continue Exploration Of Musical Eras With A Tribute To New Wave

Size? And Vans Continue Exploration Of Musical Eras With A Tribute To New Wave

The third installment of the “Dawn Of Punk” collaboration between Vans and size? comes in the form of a Slip-On inspired by Talking Heads.

Much more animated than a previous Sk8-Hi commemorating The Ramones, the laceless classic features a plethora of patterns transplanted from Talking Heads’ most famous ’70s photoshoot. Floral prints borrowed from Tina Weymouth’s blazer and skirt cover the Slip-On’s vamp, while David Byrne’s star-laden trousers are faithfully recreated around the collar. Insole and heel follow suit as they dress up in Chris Frantz’ and Jerry Harrison’s equally outlandish ensembles from the aforementioned photoshoot. Elsewhere, midfoot “VANS” tabs and “OFF THE WALL” license plates add orange flair to this pair before being rounded out by a “03.08.1979” date on the midsole, a nod to Talking Heads’ Fear of Music album launch.

The Slip-On “New Wave” is now available exclusively on the size? webstore for £65. As with previous “Dawn Of Punk” releases, both men’s and women’s sizes are offered. Enjoy a closer look at the shoes here below and checkout Vans’ Autism Awareness Collection when you’re done.
